Darren who was preparing to leave the house for the woods suddenly froze when he heard the knock on the door. He stood frozen for several minutes, staring at the door in a daze. His thoughts ran about as to what to say to Kyley in order to excuse himself from the house while avoiding suspicion.

He couldn't make the same mistake that he made the previous night again.

He had to leave the house or he couldn't guarantee what would happen in the next few minutes of staying around the house as his curse might soon overcome him.

His expression became even more horrified when the door handle turned. But thankfully, he'd already latched the door on the inside. Seeing this, Darren frowned and couldn't help but move towards the door in haste.

He realized that something was definitely wrong as he knew Kyley would never have reached for the door handle to barge in as such.
