Chapter 113
Roshanay suddenly shook her head, as if trying to physically push the thoughts away. “No. No. I will never go back to him,” she said firmly, though her voice wavered. “He did not give me the protection he promised. He hurt me. He has beaten me.” The words tasted bitter on her tongue. “He hates me. I would never want to go back to a man who does not desire me, who looks at me with doubt instead of trust.”
She wiped her tears with the back of her hand, her movements slow and exhausted, and then cleaned her eyes properly, as if trying to regain some control.
A sudden memory hit her mind when Moosa was helping her fix her wound once. They were in the garden together.
