Farah, who had been watching the exchange with keen interest, spoke up again, her voice soft but steady. “Moosa, your mother is right. You cannot carry everything on your shoulders alone. You have people who care about you, people who want to help. Let us be there for you, even if it’s just to listen.”
Moosa glanced at Farah, his eyes narrowing slightly, a flicker of suspicion passing through them. “Thank you, Farah,” he said, his tone neutral. “Your concern is noted.”
Farah nodded, accepting the statement without pushing further. “Of course. I only want what’s best for this family.”
Afsheen squeezed Moosa’s hand, drawing his attention back to her. “I know you’re doing everything you can, Moosa. And I know you love your sister. That’s all I can ask for. Just promise me that you’ll take care of yourself too. I can’t bear the thought of losing both my children.”
Moosa leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his mother’s forehead, his touch lingering for a moment.
