Chapter 75. On the Streets

A few days passed to this incident. Their lives got back to normal. Nur was recovering. Dilshad didn't encounter any such incident again at the hospital. Her father, Aahil was busy with his work. That's what he told them. He wouldn't be at home for weeks but he was coming back home tomorrow.

Nur remained at home. She didn't rejoin the school. She had recovered but she had developed social anxiety due to which she preferred remaining at home, within four walls instead of interacting with others. 

One evening, she was idly sitting, watching TV when the door to her house barged open and her mother entered, crying and wailing. 

Dilshad took off her scarf and threw the papers in her hand on the table. Nur immediately stood up and reached out for her mother who sat helplessly on the couch.

"What happened mother?!" Roshanay asked worriedly.

"They... they fired me...they fired me," Dilshad said crying.
