Chapter 152. Do You Love Me?

Defying him wasn’t an option. With hesitant, tiny steps, she moved toward him, her breathing growing ragged. Each step felt heavier than the last, as if she were dragging herself into an abyss from which she might never return.

When she finally stood in front of him, he turned his chair to face her fully. His eyes locked onto hers, his dark gaze devouring her every movement. Before she could react, his hands snaked around her waist, and in one swift motion, he yanked her forward, pulling her onto his lap.

A horrified gasp escaped her lips as her legs fell on either side of his thighs, straddling him.

She immediately panicked, her body reacting on instinct as she tried to push herself off his lap, but he was stronger. Much stronger. His grip tightened around her waist, keeping her firmly in place.

"Please let me go," she pleaded desperately, her voice barely above a whisper, shaking like a frightened bird trapped in a predator’s grasp.

She was petrified.
