Immense anger had consumed him. His fingers threaded through his silky locks as he brushed his hair, trying to soothe his rage. He needed to control his temper; otherwise, he was sure he would kill her in the worst possible way—and he didn’t want that. Killing her would be an easy escape for her.
If he so desired, he could take her life in seconds, and no one would dare question him. They would have to accept his decision to take his wife’s life. He had the authority and power to stop her breath in an instant, but it was not a feasible option. If he truly wanted her to suffer, then giving her death should be the last thing on his mind.
