Amelia’s POV

The papers fell off my hands as the sound of the footsteps increased. Was someone out there?

I didn’t know what to do. I stood like a dumbass, rooted to a spot; like one whose brain has been nibbled on by a zombie.

My heart stopped beating when everywhere went silent and I heard no footsteps anymore. Did the person turn back?

Two minutes, three, four. Still no sound. I sighed, dropping onto the floor.

I was damn scared. I looked at the medical report for the last time before putting it back into the safe.

I didn’t stop crying when I got back into the room. I would stay up until Alessandro came back. He had a lot of things to explain to me.

He had to explain to me if the medical report was real and what his sister meant back there.

I couldn’t keep my eyes open, my head was too messed up. I didn’t wake up until morning and when I did, Alessandro’s face was the first thing I saw.
