Luke and Rue shook their heads hard and said, “No need! We can play alone.” After that, they ran upstairs. But first, they bowed to Leo in a nice way.

Leo didn’t know what to say. He had no motive to stay once the kids left. When he got to the door to go outside, he said, “Happy Birthday.”

Mona said nicely and then closed the door, “thank you.”

Mona had cake with her kids before putting them to bed. Not long after that, Trevor called her. “I’m sorry, I was too busy today and almost forgot it was your birthday.” He said.

Mona answered in a cool but kind way, “It’s just a birthday; it’s not a big deal. But thanks.”

Trevor chuckled and said, “I remember when you were little, Mom and Dad would throw a big party for you every year. You don’t seem to care now that y
