I don't know why I had the urge to protect her but even though she had committed the worst of crimes, I still wanted to make sure no one hurt her.
She burst into laughter—a laughter of disbelief. It was annoying that my body still wanted her even after knowing her past. She said that she was framed and they had a video of us, but it was so hard for me to believe that my friends could do such a horrible thing to me.
There was only one way to find out about it and seeing how affected she was even though she tried to hide it, I knew that I'd have to get to the bottom of the story.
“Stop protecting me, Dexter. I don't need it.” She flared up, “If you think my stepfather is still after me then don't bother, he hasn't called since that day." She blurted, flailing her arms in the air.
I cracked a smile and folded my arms. "I know that he has been trailing you for a while but he stopped. And the call, I also know about it."
