Chapter 29. The Past

"What was the meaning of that?" I lashed out at him the moment we got home.
Thankfully, Victoria wasn't at home so I could unleash my emotions without fear. Dexter was seated on the sofa, eyes following me as I paced to and fro frantically.
I was mad—not mad—indignant.
I felt like tearing down the walls of the house with my bare hands and to worsen it all, Dexter wasn't saying anything.
"You know, I like it when you're mad. It looks so good on you." He chuckled, his long hands stretched on the chair.
Immediately, I fixed him with a glare which made him laugh. He got to his feet, his hands tucked away in the pocket of his pants with a grim smirk that sent tingles down my spine.
He advanced towards me while I contemplated on either staying on the spot or moving backwards. I chose the former option and waited for him to stop coming close.
