Chapter 41. Straightening Things

Emilia came in almost immediately, her cheeks swollen, and a very obvious shade of red on them. Her pointed nose had been battered and I was very sure it would take time for her to regain her previous perfect face.
"You're such a disgrace, Dexter." She yelled at me. "How could a mere trainee insult me and hit me like that? Take a look at my face. My cheeks are hurting."
"I'm sure your hands are still very capable of retaliating, but you didn't do anything other than allow her to remodel your face. I think I like this version," I teased her, enjoying her glares which didn't stem from just anger but resentment.
It was obvious that she didn't like me anymore. I could sense it.
