Chapter 29
Charlie's sharp giggle echoed through the empty space as he stretched to pick up his cell phone inside his tight pants, and with a single nod, he walked away, leaving me alone with a Kendall hypnotized by her social networks. I tried to get her attention twice, deliberately rubbing one of the wet sponges around her wrists resting on the edge of the counter, but she just shrunk her arms and hardened her expression, without raising her head.
I lost my hope of getting a ride home, and I started to pack the glasses kept on the shelves below the counter, keeping in mind that I would leave alone when I finished. She had barely lifted me up before finding Kendall's eyes wide and completely stiffened body. She hissed without making a sound, mentioning a single name that left me on alert.
