Freya’s POV

“Jared!” I answered the door to the familiar face of the man who disappeared so suddenly from our lives. “Where have you been?” Are you okay?” I didn’t mean to bombard him with so many questions, but my heart raced in my chest as soon as I saw him. The relief that Jared was safe was something that I never really realized I needed.

“Hello to you too,” Jared said, his dark hair flopping over his eyes as his fringe had grown longer. “Can I come in? I have some stuff to tell you.”

“Of course!” I said happily as I extended a gesture for Jared to enter the home. “We’re just making some tea, you’re welcome to join us.”

Jared nodded. “Thank you,” He exhaled. “Is Sienna here?”

“I am,” Sienna said, her voice meek and unsure. “Jared, where have you been?”
