Chapter 44

For days, Mark had been irritable. He cried out in search of his mate, desiring to be with her in the pack and mate with her until she collapsed. His mate was the only one he could think about having sex with.

His attraction to the women in the harem had faded, even though they had tempted him with the most desirable Fiona, he remained unchanged. He was only interested in his unidentified mate. He was wreaking damage that was now manifesting in more dire ways. It would only take him a short while longer to lose control. Derrick desperately needed to come up with an answer soon.

He went to Golden Iris the other day to take part in the Mating Ball. He had received invitations numerous times but had never felt compelled to attend. Not that his Beta Fred was all that interested in doing that, also. However, he was aware of the event's success for certain couples—some Alphas even found love there after they had given up. Now though, he needed to take action.
