"Eliza, come on. Let's go upstairs and talk." I offered my hand to the princess, and she eyed the four of us but took my hand anyway.

"What's going on, Rylan?" she asked as we made our way up the grand staircase, each step echoing with the weight of the conversation to come. The air in the palace felt heavy, but our mate needed to know.
