I could feel my pulse quicken again as I conveyed the details. “Ryder mentioned a Dr. Adams, an expert in terminal illnesses. He has some experimental treatment that could potentially help Father.”
“Experimental?” Alex’s brow furrowed with skepticism. “You do understand what that means, right? Risks involved? Uncertainty?”
“I know. But what do we have to lose? Father’s condition is deteriorating every day. Isn’t it worth exploring?” I countered, my voice steady, but inside, the tempest of nerves swirled. I had been the one to suggest bringing Dr. Adams in; it might be tantamount to grasping at straws, but I was desperate to give Father any chance.
