Diane hid by the side of the shop, gesturing at Elaina to make her presence known. Simone was engrossed with arranging the muffins she had just baked on display. Glancing up, she saw Elaina.

“I didn’t know you would be coming around today.” She smiled brightly at her friend.

Elaina chuckled. “I just couldn’t resist the urge to come by and have some of your delicious muffins.”

“You could have sent one of your maids over to get them to you.”

“Why do you sound like you aren’t happy to see me? It’s been a while since I last set my eyes on you, and here you are, finding every way to dismiss me,” Elaina pouted.

Simone took her hands off the tray in her hand. “Don’t act childish now. You do know how much I miss you. I have just been quite occupied. I didn’t think people would make so many orders all at once.”
