Chapter 92. Wolves in the Night
Anastasia's POV
As the hours go by, I notice several guests leaving, gradually reducing the activity on the dance floor and in the garden. The laughter becomes more sparse, and I realize that even my father has already left the garden.
I watch people leaving, getting into their cars, and saying goodbye to one another. I find nothing interesting in them or around them. I decide to venture a little further into the forest, a bit away from the parking lot and the people still in the garden.
As soon as I reach the edge of the forest, I hear a wolf's howl behind me, followed by a fierce growl. I turn my body in fear and witness the presence of a black wolf with bared fangs. As I reach the forest's edge, the bright moon illuminates the path ahead of me, casting long, unsettling shadows that dance to the rhythm of the wind in the trees.
