Chapter 22

My world came crashing down after that terrible news. The Alphas returned from their battle in the evening but they didn’t bother to come to the hospital to see their son.

I heard that the fight hadn’t gone as they had planned because the River Pack had aligned with another pack and together, they succeeded in chasing off the Woods Pack from their territory.

Brianna also didn’t come to the hospital but I wasn’t surprised. I knew she was responsible for this because it wasn’t a coincidence that my child ate a poisoned apple after she had come to threaten me in my room.

I was so angry but there was nothing I could do right now. I stayed beside my son and prayed that he would recover soon.

Days became weeks, and then months but Domarius didn’t wake up. The pack doctors said he had no brain activity and that it was a waste of time to keep him alive.
