Chapter 23

Hycinth’s father had died recently after months of going in and out of illness. His mother had decided to delay his Alpha ceremony until he was mated.

It was her greatest desire to see him settle with a partner before taking his position as the new pack leader.

She had chosen a mate for him but Hycinth rejected her. He only wanted me and after many arguments with his mother, she finally agreed.

I was welcomed warmly into the pack by all of them except Hycinth’s rejected mate. I kept my distance from her and she too avoided me most of the time.

Hycinth and I were mated the following day after I joined the Gypsy Pack. The next evening, his Alpha ceremony took place, making him the new Gypsy Alpha.

Nana’s prophecy had come true, I guess. I was a Luna again with a new mate but I couldn’t imagine what would make me leave Hycinth eventually and be mated to another Alpha. That part of her prophecy was probably wrong.
