Chapter 126. Grovelling

Sianna's POV

“I understand. Is there a message that you would like me to give Vance?” Duke asked the same question every time he called. As his best friend, he wanted us to patch things up so we could both be happy.

Thinking about it, sending a message would give him hope that we might reconcile soon. The no-contact rule applied in this situation, so I said to him over the phone, “No. Good night Duke.”

After that customary call, I made it to the bedroom. Sleeping in the master bedroom had been impossible since I delivered my lifeless child. Currently, I take my slumber in the room that was reserved as the nursery. I can’t seem to sleep in any other room.

I walked over to the cradle. Forgetting that terrible night would probably never be erased from my memory. Perhaps when justice was served, I will be able to move on.
