Hailey pulled up by my house around 7pm in her red Nissan Altima. She threw me into a tight hug as I opened the front door to greet her. She held my hand and led me to my couch in the living room. “Are your parents home?”

“Mom should be home by nine.” I vetted her concerned features on her face. I smiled to relax her and to give the impression that I was doing fine. “You have to tell me about your mate, Raj!”
