Raina’s POV

The powder keg was ready to explode, but surprisingly, Mercedes didn't have a saucy comeback. Instead, her shoulders slumped in defeat and she chewed on her lips, getting flustered. Her regular unbridled spirit diminished, appearing wounded even.

“My head—be quieter,” Valen groaned.

Although Valen had his eyes closed, his aura hit me stronger than it ever had before. The commanding pressure pushed to be obeyed as he rubbed his temples. Those two were getting on his nerves.

I stood angrily with my hands clenched at my side. “You two, knock it off.” Irritation crept into my voice and both of them whipped their heads in my direction. “Go somewhere else with your arguing. Right now, you are disturbing your Alpha and I won’t have it.”
