Raina's POV

Valen’s brows furrowed and he scolded, “I am going to kill him and make you watch. After that, I’ll take care of you.”

The threat hung heavy in the air as my heart threatened to break free from my chest. It hit me like a ton of bricks and I sucked in a breath. The weight of it all was unbearable. My insides felt like it was tearing apart. It was shredding my heart to pieces.

I could feel it. The scorching anger ladened with bitter jealousy through the bond from Valen.

“Don't you know I made preparations to welcome you back?” He added with a sinister smirk and bit my earlobe. He pulled it with his sharp teeth and released it. “You’re about to get yours too.”

Bile rose inside my throat as a maelstrom of thoughts hit me—hard. My pupils shook.

“I warned you that I’d punish you.” Valen’s voice grew deviously lustful as he gazed down at me from over my shoulder. “Oh, how I’m going to enjoy teaching you to behave.”
