Raina's POV

My heart pounded as I settled down on Valen’s right side, lying next to his dissolving body on the bed. The vacant touch only amplified the crushing weight of regret in my chest, while the coldness of his presence sent a chill down my bones.

I took a deep breath and swallowed the lump of fear that was threatening to spill over. My eyes snagged on Luna Sianna, watching her go around the bed to the other side to take up the mirror.

“I’m ready,” I stated sadly, my throat tightening from the severity of the situation.

“No matter what secrets you might learn, it’s important to keep going,” Luna Sianna urged, her voice a soft yet powerful whisper. “Because you need complete love and trust in the bond for it to guide you.”

Swallowing, I nodded and exhaled a slow, controlled breath to calm my racing heart and get into the right frame of mind. “Let’s do it.”

“Close your eyes and focus on him to open the bond. Feel him. Connect
