Chapter 36
Gwen and Paul arrived at six. They'd never met the servants or the children, as all of their party activities took place after eight and everyone was in the children's side of the house. I introduced everyone.
"Do the servants normally eat with you?" Gwen asked.
"They didn't used to," I said, "but when the kids were gone and Tracy and Rodney were playing "Master, May I," they had to wait on the servants. Things have been a little more relaxed since then. A lot more things have relaxed other than just eating with us."
Gwen's eyes twinkled as I said that, knowing what I was talking about.
"Mr. Harmon has everyone giving two hours of their day to help out," Bonnie said, "so there's more time for more enjoyable activities for everyone. He even had Franklin help clean the kitchen after breakfast while Miss Tracy, Ariel, and I worked out in the gym. And, he helped prepare this meal, bef
