Chapter 109. Stars

MORGANA’S POV

“What’s wrong?” Damon asks. Colton and Ryder went to bed already. I don’t even think they notice that they’re sleeping so close to each other. If Colton realizes that he and Ryder are cuddling in a cave, he’ll probably grumble to himself for a month straight.

“Nothing. I just..” I falter. Lately words have been difficult for me to find. I look up to the sky and see the stars.

“I don’t think I’ve seen so many stars in the sky like this before.” I say to Damon as I exhale shakily. He walks closer to me, standing to my left, both of us separated mere inches from each other.

He raises his head slightly and watches the stars with me. His fingers graze mine gently and I suck in a sharp breath and the contact. Soon we intertwine our fingers and stare at the sky in complete silence. In this moment, all is right in the world. We have each other and Ryder and Colton are safe. That’s all that matters.

“Wanna tell me what’s bothering you?” Damon break
