Raymond's POV

It was the award night, we were all assembled in an opulent and grand ball room filled with people. The hall is spacious and elegantly decorated, with high ceilings and ornate chandeliers hanging from the center.

The floor was filled with people all dressed in sophisticated attires, they were spread throughout the room, some standing, others seated at tables.

I was talking to a few businessmen who did most of the talking while I nodded and squinted my eyes every now and then to show I was interested in what they were saying.

"Hello, gentlemen" My mother came out of nowhere to join us.

While the rest responded with a hello and a smile, one of the men went the extra mile to kiss my mother's hand which left her smiling like a teenager.

"Can I have a word with Mr. CEO, please?" 

"Go ahead" The one that kissed her hand. answered for the rest of them.

"Mother, what is it?"
