Chapter 69. Find Those Responsible for This

“Wrong number.” Replied to a man from the other end of the line.Clint nodded. His head was swathed in bandages. There were some bruises and scratches on his face. He looked quite different than usual, and it would have taken someone a few seconds to recognize him.

 He slowly walked to Selene and stood by her bed. He looked at her silently for a few seconds before breaking the silence. “How are you feeling?”

Selene shook her head but nodded after that.

Austin looked at them. “You must be hungry, Selene. I’ll go grab you some food.”

After that, Austin stood up and left.

Clint sat down on a chair by the bed and moved forward to arrange Selene’s hair on her forehead. He then smiled. “I’ve spoken to the doctors. They said you’ll most likely make a quick recovery. But your throat might need some time before you’ll get your voice back.”

Selene looked at his eyes, unsure of what she felt towards him. Her emotions were running wild in her head.
