Chapter 28. The Meaning of Two

“Mama, Uncle!” Sky returned with a cheerful face. “Look at this! I’ve made a lot of plans!”

She spread her journal next to the cutting board.

Edmund glanced at it, raising his eyebrows.

“Can you explain what those are?” His voice was slightly hoarse, the sadness still lingering in his throat.

Sky pressed her chin to her lips, thinking.

“Is it that hard to understand? I tried to make it simple. Mama, do you understand what I drew?”

Rachel looked at the pages Sky was showing her. The moment she saw the drawings, she froze.

“You… want to do that with Mr. Hills?”

“Yes! I want to learn to swim, climb trees, harvest fruit in the forest, tie ropes, explore the forest to find pangolins, mark cool places on the glo
