Sky blinked innocently. "Yeah, I managed to fix the buttons on my shirt. Look, Mama. There are no missed buttons now. I'm cool and neat."

Alice smiled faintly. "What about your grandmother? What were you talking about earlier?"

"Grandma is not fierce, Mama. She didn't praise me, but she accepted the brooch I gave her and thanked me. I think that's a good start," Sky said, raising her eyebrows and smiling sweetly.

"Is it true?" Alice stared in disbelief.

Sky nodded lightly. "Yeah, we even plan to play together if she has time later."

Alice secretly breathed a sigh of relief. She had been worried that Elizabeth would treat Sky harshly. "Well, I'm glad your mission was successful. Now Mama and Uncle Ed still have to get ready. How about you wait inside?"
