Anna’s POV
She stared at them, then back at me, then at Ryan.
And she smiled.
“I’d rather die than rot in a cell because of you all.”
“Sophie—” I started, but before I could take another step, she plunged the knife straight into her chest.
The scream caught in my throat as she collapsed to the floor, blood pouring out of her like a river.
“SHIT!”
Jim rushed to her, checked her pulse, his fingers trembling.
“She’s dead.”
“You’re sure?” I asked, my voice shaking.
“One thousand percent.”
I didn’t know whether to cry, collapse, or scream. Ryan just held me tighter.
“It’s over, baby. It’s finally over.”
But it didn’t feel like relief. It just felt like the end of a nightmare I didn’t ask to be part of.
