Chapter 81
Killian’s POV
I didn’t know how the hell we were still alive. The car was upside down, completely totaled, glass everywhere, metal twisted and torn like paper. For a second, it was quiet, too quiet until I heard Richard’s groggy voice from the front.
“Alpha… Luna…?” he croaked out, coughing as he struggled to move. His hand pushed at the deflated airbag, and I saw him twist painfully, his body still strapped to the driver’s seat. Blood was on his forehead, but he was alive.
Then I turned to Liana, and that’s when I realized what had happened.
Her massive white wolf was draped over both of us, shielding us like a damn wall. She had shifted before the impact, just seconds before my own wolf could react, and she’d covered our bodies with hers. My chest tightened as I saw blood streaking down her fur, her breath heavy and slow. She was already healing, but she took the full hit for us. She saved us.
