Chapter 39. He Is Everywhere

Teyana’s POV

Two days have passed since the night with Stacy. We’ve gotten much closer now, and I was living my normal life, pretending as if the encounter with Jeremy and the text still didn’t hang heavily in my mind.

Today was my stepfather’s birthday, the celebration was fixed in the evening. The gown my mother had sent me to wear was hanging in my closet inside.

It was twelve pm and Carol was coming to pick me up for a weekend lunch outside.

Stacy was mimicking one of her professors’ accents so dramatically I had to clutch my stomach to stop myself from crying.

We were still giggling when we stepped out of the dorm. Carol’s car was already there, her window gliding down smoothly. Stacy, full of her usual bustling energy, leaned forward with a wide grin.

“Hi, Car!” she sang, waving at her.

“Hey! Love your outfit.” Carol complimented her. Stacy was wearing a ripped baggy jean and pink crop top, finished with some Grade A sneakers. I
