I didn’t try calling Maxim again after he deliberately ignored my call. Alexander drove me and the kids back home the following morning.

“Don’t forget to call me if you need anything.” He said with a smile as I stepped out of the car. “You’ll be okay.” He added.

“Thank you.” I forced a smile before helping the kids out of the back seat.
