Elizabeth’s POV

“Central Europe,” I said quickly. I stayed in Central Europe for decades after I left home. It was my home. However, my family, my clan, was here in the west... Hours from here, hidden in grand castles.

“Why are you far from home?” Pauline frowned,

“Well, I left home when I turned eighteen. I just wanted to live my life. My family trusts me, and we are always in touch,” I said. They seemed to be satisfied with that.

“I heard you run a successful shipping company. How did you do that at a young age?” It was Jamal who asked. He was the friendliest of the men. However, I knew that was just a facade. Jamal could be the devil when needed. He was a Chasia, after all.

“Well, I graduated early, and it’s my father who founded the company,” I answered.

The rest of the dinner was pleasant. Everyone was nice to me. After dinner, Aerys showed me the grounds.

“I didn’t see your siblings and cousins,” I said as we stopped in the gard
