Chapter 458. His Worst Enemy
Apphia’s POV
I stop beside the field entrance, put my hands on my knees, and breathe heavily. Should I tell Nicholas what I plan to do? No, he won’t let me, he can’t know.
I can’t let this shadow fly over us. My own mate can’t even touch me or be in the same room for a long time with me because he’s scared the wraiths will attempt to enter my body. We can’t live like this forever. I fucking miss him so much I want to cry.
Someone taps my shoulder, and I turn abruptly. I glare at my friend, but he doesn’t flinch.
“Don’t you have anything better to do than follow me around?” I snap.
“No,” he answers.
“Just leave me alone.” Before I comprehend anything, Drake embraces me in his large arms. I don’t hold him at first, but I do, and a sob escapes my mouth. The Gamma strokes the back of my hair, soothing me.
“It’ll be fine, Luna. Whatever it is,” he whispers.
“I miss Nicholas. He has been avoiding me,” I confess quietly, sniffing.
