As she stormed out, rage simmered beneath my skin, clawing its way through flesh and bone—I was seething. More furious at myself than her; if only I had treated her as she deserved, none of this would be happening. She would still be in my arms, where she belonged. Yet, I couldn’t deny the anger I felt towards her too—the mere thought of her with another man ignited a sadistic fury within me. God, I swore I wasn’t a sadist, but the thoughts swirling in my mind tempted me to envision a myriad of ways to kill her new date, to make his demise agonizing each and every time.
