Raphael’s POV
“Daddy for my birthday, I want a Spider-Man cake.” Jason said while we were playing.
“Ok. You’ll get a Spiderman cake. Do you want anything else?”
“I want a bouncy house and I want to see Spider-Man.”
“Ok. That’s not a problem. I’ll get you all those things.”
“I also want to see my mummy. I miss her.” He said and I paused.
I didn’t realize till now how much of an impact her absence would have on him. Even though she was hooked on drugs before, I made sure she showed up for him whether or not she was high out of her mind.
“Mummy still hasn’t gotten back from her trip, you know.”
“So she’s not going to come back for my birthday?”
