Chapter 8

"Mister, you're not coming home?" Nicholas, still in Edward's study, asked. "Don't forget, tonight you have an appointment for dinner with Mr. Alexander." 

Edward patted his forehead lightly. "Gosh, I almost forgot." 

Too busy chatting with Hans made the man forget the mandatory schedule for the day. 

"Nic, do you think I should still come tonight to the party?" Edward asked then. He looked doubtful now. Instead of answering right away, Nicholas laughed softly. He knew his boss must be lazy to attend a dinner like this. Instead of talking about business, conglomerates usually show off their wealth. This is what Edward avoids. 

"If you don't want Mr. Alexander to be angry, it's best if you hurry home now. He has even warned you twice today to attend the event." 

"Even though I know what the old man's purpose is for forcing me to come along."

Again Nicholas laughed. "You should be happy, Mister. Who knows, when you come home
