Julie follows his gaze to her hand. “It’s a ring, Ryan.”

“Don’t play dumb with me. You’re engaged?”

“Yes.”

“To him? Lucas?” His voice rises, disbelief and fury mixing in his chest.

“Yes,” she repeats.
