Chapter 44

Life had become more harder for Jessica in the hands of Mrs. Samad ever since she tried to escape. The basement door pulled open, and the presence of Mrs. Samad made all the workers increase the pace of their work but she ignored them as she walked toward Jessica's spot to find her sleeping other than working as instructed. 

She smacked the table very hard and that small reaction made Jessica slowly get up to notice her presence. "You have the nerve to sleep, I want you to finish these hundred clothes today!" Mrs. Samad told her. 

"Alright!" Was Jessica's simple response.

"But__ Mrs. Samad, Jessica's wound still hurt her so she might not be able to finish that much today!" Mia intervened. 

"That's right Madam, she is still trying to heal!" Laura added.

"Shut your mouth and get back to work, why are you even interfering? Do you want me to add more workload for you two?" Mrs. Samad threatened them and they said nothing more.
