Chapter 39. Prerogatives

Jeanne had gotten into the car with Michaël's driver, she hadn't wanted to ask for anything else, only her sister counted in her eyes.

"Now what happened, sir? I don't understand an accident. Did a car hit her? »

The man looked at her from behind through the rearview mirror and sighed. He could see the concern on this woman's face and he understood it. It was her sister, her only family and to learn that she had an accident even if he told her that she was fine must always weigh on her so much. He doesn't know either if he should tell him in detail about her sister's attack, he doesn't like to remember it either, as the scene was so despicable.

A little girl surrounded by wild beasts is the vision he has of this morning.

“No Miss Jeanne it’s not a road accident”

Jeanne could see through the rearview mirror that this man in front of her was refusing to tell her anything. Could what happened to Emma be beyond words? Whatever the truth, she had to know.
