But you are a good person. I wanted to tell him that. But instead, I moved closer to his chest and lay my head on the smooth surface of it. I could hear the loud beating of his heart, the uneven breathing. I can even feel the rumbling of his thoughts.
A smile formed on my lips while my right ear rested on his chest.
“But if you were to search and kill your mate instead, isn’t that the same thing that happened to your parents?”
Now Zarion gasped at my logic. “Well—”
“Death is not always the answer, Zarion. Sometimes it's the question—a question that I presume you’ve already been asking yourself right now.”
