Chapter 24. Daniel’s Secret

Could he really tell her that he had left the pack because she was on the verge of decaying and being destroyed, and that he had to save her from being seen or found by anyone? Could he actually tell her that?

Realizing that his emotions had been completely out of whack from the moment he walked in, he simply gave her a stiff smile before excusing himself.

“You go enjoy yourself. I’ll be around,” Daniel said, before leaving her side.

This was the first time he had ever acted annoyed with her like this, and it didn't go unnoticed by Jasmine either. She looked after him with a complicated expression before turning away and leaving him alone. Daniel hadn't wanted to hurt her, but the growing sensation in his chest that something terrible was about to happen simply wouldn't leave his mind, and it certainly didn't help that his heart was beating at a frantic pace.
