Chapter 44. Don't Let Her Sleep

After Victoria finally calmed down from Alexander’s constant comforting, Alexander finally heaved a sigh of relief. Daniel Neptune stepped out of the room to think through his new strategy more thoroughly and see if it was actually feasible given Victoria’s current fragile condition.

“Can you watch over her while I go speak with her parents? Regarding what she told us about Madeline, make sure that she doesn’t fall asleep. You can handle that, right?” Alexander said after he had laid Victoria gently back onto the mattress.

“I’ll be right downstairs in the main hall with everyone else. Call out to me if you need anything or if she starts to panic again,” Alexander added after Ashton gave him an understanding nod.
