“I brought you something for your birthday. It’s not much, but I hope you like it,” Alexander said, before fishing around inside his pocket. “Can you… umm… close your eyes?” he asked, his ears turning a bright shade of red.

Closing my eyes with a smile, I waited patiently for him to retrieve the surprise he had prepared for me. However, I couldn't help but snap my eyelids back open when I heard him clear his throat nervously, his hands frantically moving across the mattress in a clumsy, disorganized scramble.
