Thorn just laughed, then stood up and approached her husband to hug her and kiss her on the forehead. "It's part of growth, Cinnamon. Cuddling them all the time won't do them any good. We have to prepare them for what's in store for them. The world outside is merciless."

Somehow, Cassia understood, but they were still her beloved children. "Just... just tone it down a bit. Especially with Tha-tha. You know what kind of behavior he has. I don't want her to hate you."

Thorn chuckled. "Let her be. She has to grow up."

Cassia just sighed at what her husband said and then leaned into his arms, hugging her. "Tha-tha's birthday is coming soon. Should we throw a party for her? Knowing her, though, I'm having second thoughts."

"Yeah, knowing Thassia, she'll prefer money to a grand party."

"So... let's just give him money?" Cassia asked her husband.
