Chapter 8. Aye, Aye, My Captain
The next morning, Dianna woke up late. She quickly looked at the clock, realizing it was quarter to eight. The kids must be hungry, she thought.
To make things up with them, she stood from the bed and rushed to the bathroom. She somehow brushed her teeth and took a quick bath.
“Oh Dianna, how could you wake up at this time? They must be hungry!”
She did everything to finish as much as possible, until she rushed to the kitchen only to see everyone laughing genuinely with Klaud.
At the corner, she watched how happy they were. Klaud was telling a funny story while the kids’ laughter echoed around the entire dining area.
Her heart throbbed too fast while smiling sweetly at them. She couldn’t ask for more than her family’s happiness.
It was perfect. How she hoped she could join them like it used to be, but things were different between her and Klaud.
Her presence might change the entire mood, she thought.
