“Are you crying?”

“No,” I said quickly. “Words, I lack words to express my feelings right now. I will really love to see you, please. I have something to discuss with you.”

“Just breathe and try to calm down. Everything will be okay,” Bennett’s soothing voice offered comfort over the phone. “Can we meet tomorrow then?”

“Thank you so much,” I replied, nodding despite knowing she couldn’t see me. “Yes, please come as early as you can. I’m staying at a hotel because I couldn’t bear to remain at home. I’m planning to leave first thing tomorrow morning.”

“That’s unfortunate,” Bennett sympathized, “I’ll see you soon. Get some rest, good night.”

“Good night,” I echoed.
